#whatsupwednesday 🔴⚪️🔵 Check out Mrs. Burkholder's science students dissecting chicken feet to learn about how tendons, muscles, and bones work together to enable movement. Students manipulated tendons on the ventral and dorsal side of the feet to see the difference between flexion and extension. 🐓

Today we celebrate our incredible team of specialists who make a world of difference every day: our Speech Pathologist - Kati Hartin, our Occupational Therapist - Casey Cale, and our Physical Therapists - Allie Michael & Holli Todd! 🔴⚪️🔵 Drumroll, please…. Voted on by the students of BNI… Presenting October’s Teacher of the Month… ERIN PATTON Mrs. Patton is a 5th grade science & social studies teacher at BNI. She loves her students deeply and enjoys cultivating strong relationships with them. Check out a few of the things her students had to say about her… 🔴 “she is really nice and she makes everything more entertaining than it is” ⚪️ “because even tho I dont have her she is still super sweet to me” 🔵 “because she is sweet and kind and makes teaching fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

🔴⚪️🔵 #whatsupwednesday Ms. Jones’s class worked in building simple circuits using a few components— a wire, lightbulb, and a battery!— some of our curious young scientists even took it a step further to explore parallel and series circuits! Way to go Ms. Jones’s class! Your curiosity and creativity really shine!

🔴⚪️🔵 #whatsupwednesday In Mrs. Burkholder's 6th grade class, students created “paper bones” that were circular, triangular, and square to determine which shape is the most supportive. They discussed how this supports the scientific concept of structure and function being directly related.

🔴⚪️🔵 #whatsupwednesday Check out what Mrs. Osburn's 5th graders have been up to... It’s “forced perspective"!!!They studied how distance matters when you look at the sun's brightness and the size in relation to Earth. What a fun way to see that!
