Day 1 and 2 of Read Across America week!! A special visit from Clifford, buddy classes in library, and a fun presentation from our middle school Drone Team!
3rd graders got to experience an “in-house” STEM Field Trip when engineers from Kimberly-Clark came to BNE last week. The kids learned all about the facility and what all is produced there. Then, they got to do some great experiments using Kimberly-Clark products. They learned all about SAM (super absorbent material) that is made at Kimberly-Clark and used in their Huggies diapers. Next, they observed a density experiment and made predictions on how dense certain liquids and objects were. Finally, they got to roll up their sleeves and use the Kimberly-Clark paper pulp to create their own special piece of paper. Special thanks to Mr. Greg Ryan and his crew of engineers for allowing our students to participate in this incredible presentation and also for the donations of paper towels and Kleenexes. The kids had so much fun learning about careers in STEM and getting such a great, hands-on, action packed experience.
