Our 1st and 3rd grade buddy classes worked together on playground and lunch room expectations! The 3rd graders wrote down each of the areas, then paired up with a 1st grader to talk about and draw out expectations. Way to work together and show teamwork students!

We love all of our class pets at NE! Think about it...class pets offer educational, emotional, and social benefits, fostering responsibility, empathy, and stress reduction, while enhancing engagement, behavior, and a connection to nature among students.

Today for #whatsupwednesday Johnny Appleseed came to visit our kindergartners at NE!!

Run Club begins this Friday 9/29! Send your child in sneakers and comfy clothes.
A little background if you haven't heard what Run Club really is....
Run Club is a monthly challenge where the kids run/walk laps during recess and the laps continuously accumulate each month. For example, if they run 5 this month (September) and run 6 in October we add those together for a total of 11 laps. When they get to a total of 8 laps (which equals about a mile) they get a small foot keychain that can go on their backpacks. Each time they get 8 more laps they get another foot keychain for another mile ran. Students can choose to run for part of their recess or the entire time or not at all...up to them! Just fun to get them moving and working on their fitness and challenge them a bit!

First grade has been working hard, making messes, and having fun creating their urban, suburban, and rural communities. Way to use our Great Expectations word of the month, Creativity!

Next week is Homecoming week!! Our themed dress up days are optional as always, but always so fun to see everyone dressed up!
NE is also collecting canned peaches or any other canned fruits for the BOC food pantry! Let's help stock it up!

Pre-K concluded their Farm Week by dressing up at farmers, singing farm songs, playing farm games, and having the FFA bring farm animals to pet! Such a fun unit and they learned so much about a farm!

Unfortunately, the rain has caused us to have to cancel Run Club today.
It will be rescheduled for next Friday, September 29th!

It was a great day to be a BNE Spartan today!! We celebrated our 22nd annual Jog-A-Thon!! Woot! Woot! Talk about a #thankfulthursday!! The weather, our PTO, Raising Canes, staff, parents, and students...THANK YOU!!!
