Our building goal is for each Elevate class to stuff ONE complete stocking. The first 5 Elevate classes to turn in their complete stocking to the Counseling office will receive a donut party! Next week is Homecoming week! During our week of celebrating HOCO, Bixby Public Schools are collecting food for our Bixby Outreach Center. For the food drive collections, BMS is looking to gather side dishes like Knorr sides, Hamburger Helper boxes, Pasta or Rice-a-Roni, etc. Any donation is greatly appreciated! Check out the graphic for dress up days during HOCO week! Next Friday, 10/11 from 5-7 pm, BMS will host our first dance of the school year! The theme is Whiteout. Exciting news!! The OK State Department of Education is offering FREE math tutoring for Middle School students through the Oklahoma Math Tutoring Corps. The Fall session begins October 6th. Here is the link for registration and information about the program: https://sde.ok.gov/math-tutoring-corps

Our After School Homework Help has started this semester and is off to a great start! If your student needs help with assignments, we have teachers staying after school to help! Mondays - Social Studies Tuesdays - English Wednesdays - Math Thursdays - Science Please see the attached graphic for times, teachers and classrooms. Good afternoon and Happy Thursday! It was great to see all the smiling faces at our Meet-The-Teacher yesterday here at BMS. We are excited for the start of the school year and are looking forward to seeing all the students on Tuesday. As you prepare for this school year, please remember we have an updated cell phone policy that will be in effect on the first day of school. Bixby Middle School will prohibit the use of cell phones and other communication devices. Students may still carry phones in purses or backpacks, yet they must be off and out of sight at ALL times during the school day. This ban also includes smart watches, smart glasses, ear pods, headphones, and all other personal wireless devices. Students are encouraged to have a method of accessing their current school schedule that does not require the use of a cell phone so to avoid a violation of this new policy. All violations of this policy will result in the item being confiscated, available for the student to pick after school on 1st offenses and available for parent/guardian pickup on all subsequent offenses. If your student has not yet checked out a Chromebook, no worries. Our staff with work with the student to get that issued as quick as possible after we start on Tuesday. We hope to have everyone taken care of by Wednesday of next week. Also, some of our Fall sports are already competing. BMS Traffic adjustment for Friday 11/3. During the school day tomorrow, our Loop driveway will be closed to car traffic between the start of 1st hour and the end of 5th hour. It will be open for the morning Drop-Off process and will reopen after the start of 6th hour. The Loop Driveway will be open for normal traffic flow for our afternoon Pick-Up process.
