The Pride of Bixby was incredible in their finals performance and wins the Owasso Invitational!
The Pride of Bixby sweeps the visual, music and general effect categories in Class 3A at the Owasso Invitational. Great job Pride and Mr. Parker!

ACT Workshop with Chad Cargill is on Monday, October 15th from 8:30-11:30. For more information and to sign up, please see Mrs. Webb in the counseling office. Cost is $30 and space is limited!
Big shout out to our Child Nutrition Department and the fabulous cafeteria staff at BHS on trying new menu items. Be on the lookout for new options throughout the year. The sliders today were excellent!
Cheer State is this Saturday, 9/22/18, for our Varsity Cheer. The competition will be held at Oral Roberts University. Please come support our Cheer Squad! Time for the event is at 4:30pm.

Attention Parents of Sophomores: Reminder- If you did not complete Chromebook insurance renewal paperwork by August 31st, your child's device is currently UNINSURED. Whether you plan to renew insurance or waive insurance, I need all parents to complete paperwork as soon as possible. You may complete the required paperwork online at MySchoolBucks (found under the school store tab), or print and return these attachments to HS Room E-30.

BHS: Picture Retakes/Makeup Day and Yearbook Ordering
The school picture retake/remake day for juniors, sophomores and freshmen is Oct. 3. Eleventh and 10th graders who need retakes or to have their photos taken for the first time will go to the Whitey Ford gym foyer during their English classes. Ninth graders will go to Room N-121 in the Ninth Grade Center.
Also, it’s important that you reserve a yearbook. A back-to-school special will run until Sept. 28. Many did not receive yearbooks last year because they did not purchase one by March 1, the cutoff date to guarantee receiving a book. Please go online to jostens.com, navigate to the Bixby High School page and order one.

BHS: Senior Photos for Yearbook and Yearbook Ordering
Members of the Class of 2019, the makeup day for senior pictures in the yearbook is Sept. 17 in Studio B, the stand-alone building south of the football stadium and west of the math-science building.
These photos are for the yearbook, taken by Legacy Studios, and you do not have to buy anything. You may buy personal senior pictures from Legacy, Shipman Photography or any other studio. But the senior photos that will run in the 2019 Spartan Shield yearbook must be taken by Legacy on Sept. 17.

Also, it’s important that you reserve your senior yearbook. A back-to-school special will run until Sept. 28. BHS: The online virtual lab has moved! Students should report to HS room S-208 beginning Tuesday, September 4th.
The last day to drop a TCC concurrent enrollment class is today, Friday, August 31st. Have a great Labor Day weekend!
PSAT /NMSQT Testing
The PSAT is being given at the high school on Wed., Oct. 10th. The PSAT is open to 9th - 11th grade students. The PSAT is not only a practice SAT, but it is also used by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation to screen and identify students for National Merit recognition. Juniors who take the PSAT are automatically entered in the National Merit search. Students who take the PSAT will also have free access to SAT test prep through Khan Academy once they receive their score reports.
To register for the test, students must bring the test fee of $16 to the high school counseling office to secure their spots. There are limited seats available, so please register early. Cash or checks payable to Bixby Public Schools are acceptable. We cannot hold spots without pre-payment.
• Juniors may register beginning Thursday, Aug. 30th.
• Sophomores & Freshmen may register beginning Wed., Sept 5th.
• LAST DAY to REGISTER is Tues, Sept 11th. Registration closes at 3:45pm. No late registrations permitted.
• If spots are still available after the cutoff, registration will remain open until all spots are filled.
