Miss Phenicie’s Pre-AP English classes reviewed their parts of speech by playing a round of Uno. Instead of numbers, the cards have been filled with parts of speech. By learning parts of speech, they will be able to add more specificity to writing and make correct edits.
Congratulations to Mr. Behrens and Ms. Phenicie on being voted August and September Teachers of the Month.
Señor Cox's Spanish classes did a "Gallery Walk" to collaborate and discuss topics for an upcoming test.
Welcome Mrs. Joiner!
Mrs. Joiner is joining the Bixby 9GC Family as an English I teacher. She is starting her sixth year of teaching English. She graduated from NSU, where she earned her Bachelor's degree. She is married with two children.
Mr. McBride's Algebra I classes continued reviewing solving one and two step equations by figuring our way out of a virtual escape room. Students had to master three levels of solving equations to receive the code to "escape".
Students enjoyed watching Crash Court and hearing the Victim Impact Panel. Thank you Judge Moody.

Mrs. Phenicie’s Pre-AP English classes wrote similes to define theme and presented them in class. Many students chose interactive elements. Examples include: “Theme is like the icing on a doughnut because it brings the flavor to the story.”

Reviewing One Step Equations
Mr. McBride's class spent today reviewing how to solve one step equations by playing games! Today, we played One Step Equation BINGO, where students were given an equation and had to solve for the answer, and then find it on their BINGO cards.
