Good evening East Elementary families,
It has been a terrific first week of school! Students are adjusting well to their new routines and there are many new friendships forming! Beginning Monday, Aug. 22nd, we would like to encourage students to walk to class independently. We will have faculty stationed throughout the hallways to help direct students as they continue to learn their way. Any parent will need to use the safe school ID system in the front office to gain a visitor’s badge for building access. Please remember that the goal is for our students to transition to school successfully! We welcome ALL parents into the building but need to get busy learning so please be mindful of the bell schedule in order for classes to start at 7:50 a.m. We appreciate your support in developing student independence with the morning routine.
Monday evening parent orientation for East Elementary will be from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Parents will begin in the gym, for site wide information, and will then be released to classes. Teachers will also be sharing the information presented at orientation via email. Please know that parent orientation is intended to familiarize yourself with your child’s classroom schedule, school wide programs, initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and expectations. We would like to preserve the confidentiality of students, so if there are specific items that you need to discuss with the teacher please reach out to the teacher to schedule a meeting.
If your child will have a transportation change please make sure to call the front office, (918) 366- 1711. Please no transportation changes or office pick ups after 2:15 p.m. in efforts to ensure students are at the correct dismissal locations. Next Friday, Aug. 26th, will be the first early release day for the semester. Students, K- 3rd, will be dismissed at 1:55. Pre-K teachers will follow up with their families with information about Pre-K dismissal for early release Friday.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing you on Monday!

Spartans, we are having a wonderful first week! Just a reminder, tomorrow 8/19 is NOT an early release day. Early release will begin on Friday, 8/26.
Good evening East Elementary families,
The East Elementary staff is so excited to welcome our students in for the 2022-23 school year! School doors will open at 7:30 allowing students to head to class. For all families that will be transporting their child(ren) to school please take a moment to review the arrival and dismissal procedures linked below. It is important to note that all traffic for the east campus enters through the far west entrance. Elementary traffic follows the blue arrows on the outside lane and will shift to the inside lane past the intermediate school entrance. Please note, that all elementary traffic will shift to the inside lane at that point as the outside lane becomes an exit only lane. For the safety of our students and patrons, all exit lane traffic will be directed to 131st.
This week, parents will have the ability to walk their child(ren) to class by signing in with a car rider tag. If you did not pick up a tag during Meet the Teacher, you are welcome to sign in the office using your ID. You may also pick up a car rider tag at that time. If you are escorting your child(ren) to their classroom, please be mindful of the bell schedule as teachers will begin promptly at 7:50. EE staff is looking forward to welcoming all students and to kick off a spectacular school year!
