Parents,
There has been a delay with the bridge widening on Harvard. It will now begin next Tuesday, November 9th. In preparation for that, however, we have a couple of immediate concerns that must be addressed with drop off and pick up of students to help the flow of traffic.
- No PreK students should be dropped off in the Intermediate line. If you have a PreK student, they should be dropped off in the elementary line and their intermediate sibling should walk over.
- If you are dropping off younger students and you are concerned with them getting inside, you should drop off in the elementary line. Otherwise, pull all the way up to drop off rather than stopping by the flag pole. When you stop at the flag pole it halts traffic and increases the line and the wait time.
- Everyone going through the drop off and/or pick up line MUST pull all the way up. If you drop a younger child off, we will get them to the elementary side. We do this daily. An older sibling is welcome to walk them over if needed, or they can walk through the building. At this point, they know where they are going and this has not been a problem.
- Remember, grace and patience are required. But compliance with procedures is also necessary so that we can keep the flow of traffic moving. When everyone follows the procedures, it goes really well. When even one person doesn't, it causes a jam. We will have additional staff on duty for a bit to help with this, but it must continue in order to help with the traffic issues.
We appreciate your help and understanding. If we all work together, this will go smoothly and efficiently so everyone can get out and get to work or wherever on time. Thank you for your support!
