Our drop off and pick up procedures for car riders are available in a video found at this link: https://www.bixbyps.org/article/282301?org=bixby-west-intermediate. For those who came for a tour, you probably discovered that it can be tricky if you don't read the signs! There should be plenty of signage available, and we will have cones set out to assist.
Please follow the procedures below for car line drop off:
- For car line drop off, simply pull through the Intermediate loop and have your child quickly exit the car. No parking will be allowed and entrance into the building by parents/visitors is not allowed.
- For car line drop off, if your intermediate child has an elementary sibling, please drop your children off from the ELEMENTARY car line. Your intermediate child can walk across the front of the building and enter the Intermediate side. They will NOT be allowed to enter through the elementary side of the building.
- For the first couple of mornings, teachers will be placed in strategic areas in the building to assist students with finding classes. They should go directly into the building.
Please follow the procedures below for car line pick up:
- For pick up - PLEASE - put a sign with your child's first and last name on it in big, black letters so we are able to see them and have your child come to the car for loading.
- For pick up - please stay in your car. No parking will be allowed. Follow the loop and we will load your child as quickly as possible.
- If your intermediate child has an elementary sibling, please pick up your children from the ELEMENTARY car line.
- In the afternoon, children will be seated with their grade level cohort and will not be allowed to sit with other grades. Intermediate students with younger siblings will, however, move to an assigned area on the Elementary side for pick up. They will also be grouped by grade level cohorts for safety.
Patience is required the first few days as we work out any kinks. Remember - we are ALL new, so we need to work together by following these procedures. If you have any questions or problems, please contact Mrs. Shaw or Mrs. Timmons. Thank you!
