BMS students and staff braved the chilly temps Tuesday to travel outside and participate in the signing of the final construction beam to the new wing of the middle school. After the signing, the beam was secured in place. We look forward to the opening this new addition.

The Legislature officially convenes next week on Monday, February 4, 2019. You may be interested in knowing there have been over 350 education-related bills introduced for the 2019 session. Thank you in advance for your advocacy for public education.

Students who have been sent home or are absent due to illness must be free of fever, diarrhea and vomiting for 24 hours w/o the use of medications. If placed on an antibiotic for a contagious illness, students must be on the antibiotic for 24 hours before returning to school.

BMS is registered to participate in the 2019 NIDA Drugs & Alcohol Chat Day on 1/24/19. We have room for about 30 students to participate. If you are interested in your student participating, please contact rwallace@bixbyps.org.

8th Grade parents: The application window is now open for the Tulsa Tech Pre-Engineering class for the 2019-2020 school year. 8th grade students can go to tulsatech.edu/apply to start the application process.

Our All-Athlete Physicals Night (7-12th grades) is scheduled for Thursday, 5/2 @ 6pm at BHS. Students participating in extra-curricular activities and athletics for the 2019-2020 school year are required to complete this process prior to the beginning of the school year.

All NJHS applicants will be notified tomorrow, in writing, if they have been accepted. The acceptance letter will include an RSVP to the Induction Ceremony that will be held on Jan. 23rd, at 6 pm here at BMS. Questions? Contact Shelley Lawson slawson@bixbyps.org
