Hello CI families! We are busy preparing student items to be picked up next week. In doing so, we have some very specific instructions that we need you to follow so that we make pick up as safe for our staff and families as possible. We will do this process as quickly as possible with as little contact as possible.
Pick up of student's belongings will begin Monday, May 18th at 9:00 am. Pick up is from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm daily through Friday, May 22nd. The pickup procedure follows, and there are no exceptions to how items will be distributed. (If you need special accommodations based on health needs, however, please contact our office as we have a different procedure in place for those students' item distribution.)
1. Please enter the parking lot by way of the gravel/asphalt drive way further down 161st Street. Do NOT enter at the exit by the marquee.
2. Pull up past the gym doors. There will be a sign that says "stop here." Please DO NOT exit your vehicle. Simply roll down your window.
3. Please have a sign in your PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW with your child's FIRST and LAST NAME, along with the LAST NAME of their HOMEROOM TEACHER. If your child is a SIXTH GRADER, please put the LAST NAME of their FOURTH HOUR teacher. Please write this information on the paper large enough and dark enough that we can read it from the door.
4. When we see the information on the sign in your window, we will retrieve your child's belongings, including a yearbook if they've purchased one, and a band instrument if they've left one. If your child left medication at school, that will be delivered with their belongings. We will bring the items to your car on a cart, and you'll be able to grab them from there and be on your way.
5. No one is allowed to enter the building for any reason. All items belonging to students will have been placed in their bag. If something cannot be located, you'll need to call our office.
6. Lost and Found will be situated near the pick up area. You are welcome to exit your vehicle to look at what is hanging on the racks. However, please honor social distancing requirements, and masks and gloves are preferred as well.
7. All items not picked up by 3:00, Friday, May 22nd will be discarded or donated to the BOC. This includes all lost and found items.
8. Student report cards are in their bags with their belongings. If you do not intend to pick up belongings, report cards will be available on PowerSchool beginning on May 18th for you to view.
Please understand that we have approximately 650 students, and the lines could be long at times. We ask for your patience and your support as we handle this in a manner safest for all. It definitely isn't the way we wanted the year to end, and we are heartbroken that we cannot say goodbye to our students. We love and appreciate the endless support you have given us throughout this school year as well. It has definitely been one met with challenges, but as always, we continue to move forward because we are Spartan Strong!! Please hug your babies for us and we will see you next week. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to call our office. Thank you!
