>> New OSSAA Rule << The OSSAA has enacted a new rule (Suspension from Athletic Activities for Unsporting Behavior Rule) in efforts to improve sportsmanship at HS & MS athletic events. Any “egregious” unsportsmanlike behavior by Coaches, Players, or Fans two or more times in the same season / same sport will cause the SUSPENSION of the TEAM and/or Individual from the rest of the season. The OSSAA cited some the following examples of “egregious” unsportsmanlike behavior: - Fans constantly verbally attacking officials. - Fans physically attacking officials. - Fans attacking other fans at athletic events. - Coaches physically attacking or verbally berating officials. - Players getting into fights with other players while shaking hands at the end of contests. - Student sections verbally chanting inappropriate or demeaning chants at individuals, teams, or officials.

On March 30, 2022, Governor Stitt signed Senate Bill 2 (The Save Women’s Sports Act) into law. The legislation requires schools to expressly designate their athletic teams based on biological sex and prohibits biological male students from participating in sports designated for female athletes. Additionally, it requires a minor student athlete’s parent sign an affidavit acknowledging the biological sex of the student at birth and to notify the school within 30 days of any change thereof. ***Due to this requirement, we have added a required form to Rank One. All parents/guardians of student-athletes must now complete this additional form and it can be found on your student-athletes portal on Rank One. https://bit.ly/3PSPQif

Bixby Spartan Athletics would like to introduce Todd Henshaw as the new Head Boys Golf Coach at BHS. He is entering his 28th year in education and many years as a golf and softball coach.
