The 9GC wraps up the week with their first “Mystery Day”

Each year, the 9GC has a day devoted to a cross-curricular activity. This year, we took the approach of making it a mystery day, where a couple of our State Championship trophies were “stolen” and each hour students were given clues based on activities in their classes to narrow down the “culprits”. Students had the ability to take the clues and eliminate teachers based on various things such as eye color, subject area, high school and college attended, among other factors.

The English department had 5 puzzles for students to figure out to leave our "escape rooms" and head to the library for the final clue!

The Math Department incorporated multi-level logic puzzles and escape rooms into their activities, where students were able to solve the puzzles or escape for the clues each hour.

The Biology department organized a forensics based lab activity where students were able to participate in to eventually receive their clues.

The Social Studies department had an activity where they had to collaborate to decipher information relating to historical questions and vocabulary that aligned with the clues for each hour.

The World Languages department went on a globe-trotting adventure like James Bond, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, and the Amazing Race. Answering questions about culture and geography as well as playing games led to receiving clues as to the suspect's identity.
