Spartans,
After reviewing the updated forecast, we anticipate a high probability of hazardous road conditions during the day tomorrow. Therefore, the district has made the decision to transition all schools to distance learning on Wednesday 2/23. Transportation and meal service will not be available and all school sites will be closed.
A decision on the status of school for Thursday will be made after evaluation of weather conditions tomorrow afternoon. Any additional school closures this week will be distance learning days in order to keep our scheduled last day of school intact.
Athletic events may experience cancellations as well. BPS athletics staff will keep families apprised of any schedule changes. The district will make a determination relative to practices by noon on Wednesday.
Additionally, in an effort to be proactive, all parent-teacher conferences will be virtual on Thursday evening. Teachers will be communicating with parents who had an in-person meeting scheduled to provide Google Meet details.
Please stay tuned for updates as the weather rolls in! Stay warm and safe!
Thank you,
BPS
Previous Announcement from 5 PM:
Spartans,
Given the current forecast it is HIGHLY LIKELY the district will transition all schools to distance learning on Wednesday 2/23. However, as we have learned from previous storms, a slight shift in the timing or type of precipitation could allow us to remain open. Families should begin preparing for child care if needed. We will communicate a final decision via text and email by 6 AM tomorrow morning.
Thank you,
BPS
