Spartans, summer break is waning as August approaches and we are ready to share details with you about the start of the 2021-22 school year!

Although we had planned to reinstate all regular school procedures, unfortunately, the recent COVID surge is impacting those plans. See Supt. Miller’s latest update.

Cohort Start:
You will notice on our school calendar that students will begin the year in a cohort start as they did last August. This model proved to benefit students, families, and teachers in many ways allowing them to begin the year in a smaller setting.
Last Names A-K will report August 16th-17th.
Last Names L-Z will report August 18th-19th.
All students will report on August 20th which is NOT an early release Friday.
We understand we have blended families who may need an adjustment to this cohort model in order to ensure all students in their household have the same schedule. In this case, please notify your school site principal(s).
Students attending Bixby Learning Center will not partake in the cohort schedule. All students will report on August 16th.
Early release Fridays will begin on August 27th.

Transportation Information for Bus Riders:
The district has purchased a new program to manage all things transportation! Included in the program are some new procedures for families who use bus transportation along with some updates and features we think will be very beneficial! See here for details and to find your child's bus route!
Child Nutrition, Free & Reduced Meals and Online Meal Payment
We are asking all families who MAY qualify for free or reduced meals to complete this important application when it becomes available on August 1st!
Although both breakfast and lunch will be free to all students for the 2021-22 school year, BPS calls on ALL families to complete this application, especially if you may qualify for free or reduced meals. This impacts our eligibility for funding in our schools! Everything from technology, student remediation, transportation, professional development for teachers, and even the district’s ability to receive grants depends upon the completion of these applications by families who may qualify!
