BPS hosted our 5th Annual Legislative Night organized by the Bixby Education Association and Bixby PLAC. This long-standing partnership between teachers, parents, and administrators is a difference-maker at our State Capitol. It’s a true team effort focused on what’s best for our students! The one and only goal: ensure the best possible public education for every student in Oklahoma.
Speaking of our students, we brought them to the table, literally, at this year’s Legislative Night. We hosted two forums prior to the regular evening agenda. One with support staff and counselors focused on mental health and student supports. The other, a student forum focused on their concerns and needs in the classroom. Both forums opened up meaningful conversations surrounding our most pressing issues. We value the opportunity to continue to foster positive relationships with our elected officials and we are grateful to have a group that is willing to attend these types of events and converse with us!
If you missed out, not to worry! You can sign up for Spartans at the Capitol here. Also, you can view our agenda with LOTS of great resources here.
We would like to thank everyone who joined us and also our legislators in attendance:
