Message from Supt. Miller: Welcome Back Spartans!

Dear Spartan Families,

Welcome back! I hope you've had a wonderful and rejuvenating summer break. As the new school year begins, I wanted to extend my warmest greetings and share my excitement for the journey ahead.

You are likely familiar with the opening scene of any Mission Impossible movie, where some perilous and challenging mission is delivered to IMF Agent Ethan Hunt with the stipulation, “Should you choose to accept it?”-- knowing fully well that of course, he will. And, in Ethan Hunt’s world, we have also come to recognize that no mission is truly impossible.

Bixby Public Schools’ mission is clear: “To ignite the potential of every child.” This isn't just a statement, but a commitment we wholeheartedly embrace. Our knowledgeable and dedicated team of educators, staff, and administrators is ready to work together with you this year to build and sustain an environment where your children can flourish academically, socially, and personally.

While our jobs don’t involve scaling cliffs, jumping from helicopters, or riding motorcycles at high speed through traffic, our district is filled with individuals with a similar, can-do mindset as Ethan Hunt. They have committed their knowledge, skills, energy, and passion to a vocation that educates and inspires children to succeed. And while educators fully understand the difficulties of the mission, when it comes to making a difference in the lives of children, the mission is always possible.

Whether it's the first day of kindergarten for your child or they are in the final stretch of high school, we are dedicated to making it their best year ever. As parents and family members, your involvement, support, and partnership play a crucial role in their success, and we value your collaboration and trust in our schools.

As we open our doors for the new school year this Thursday, I look forward to seeing our halls and classrooms filled with excited students, hearing the sounds of learning and laughter, and witnessing the growth each day brings.

Thank you for entrusting us with your children's education. We enthusiastically accept the mission of serving you and your child(ren). I assure you we are up to it. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!

Best wishes,

Rob Miller
