Bixby Public Schools has been involved with Special Olympics Oklahoma Competitions for over thirty years as a district team. Our students compete in both regional and state-wide competitions in a variety of sports including but not limited to bocce ball and track and field competitions.
The goal of Bixby Public Schools Special Olympics team is to provide sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and young adults with disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with other Special Olympic athletes, their families, and our community.
January 17, 2024: Special Olympic Parent Meeting at Bixby Middle School Library 5:30-6:30.
January 26, 2024: Varsity Basketball Penny Drive Kick Off
January 29-February 2, 2024: District Penny Drive
February 16, 2024: All registration and medical forms are due. No medical forms or district registrations will be accepted after this date.
February 14--23, 2024: Store will be open for Athletes to order uniforms for Special Olympics. No orders will be taken after February 23, 2024. Athletes must have school uniforms to participate in any Special Olympic Activities per Special Olympic Guidelines.
April 6, 2024: Area Special Olympics
May 15-17, 2024: State Special Olympics in Stillwater
