The following steps MUST be completed at least 5 business days prior to any volunteer opportunities. Paperwork submitted without 5 days notice cannot be guaranteed to be processed in time.

1. Watch the video.

2. Download the required forms.

3. Complete the forms and turn them in to the Administration Building at 23 S. Riverview Drive OR

   via email to jjernegan@bixbyps.org.

4. Once the paperwork is complete and the required background check is processed and approved, you will be cleared to volunteer!

Required Forms

The video posted below serves as the "required volunteer orientation" mentioned on the BEST Volunteer Contract Form. Upon signing the required contract, you will attest that you "understand that I must attend a volunteer orientation prior to volunteering in the capacity described above and agree to abide by the policies & procedures as outlined for volunteers."

Are you interested in assisting teachers, students, and staff and sharing your talents and skills in the school or classroom on a regular basis--weekly, bi-weekly, monthly? This training is for you!

B.E.S.T. (Bixby Educational Support Team):
Bixby Public School's Board of Education policy defines a B.E.S.T. volunteer as a person "whose services are donated on a regular basis as a classroom aide or tutor and/or who work directly with students or in the classroom. Those persons matching this description must be trained via the Bixby Education Support Team (B.E.S.T.) To better assist our volunteers, staff, and students, Bixby Public Schools requires this training to ensure all volunteers have an understanding of:

• school policy

• safety plans

• volunteer guidelines

• classroom management strategies

• confidentiality issues

• daily procedures to follow when volunteering
