Academic Team

The Bixby Academic Team is open to all 7th/8th graders who qualify to participate through tryouts. The Academic Team competes against other area middle schools January-March on Wednesdays after school in the academic areas of Current Events, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Choir

The BMS Vocal Music Program is committed to developing independent musicians who have exceptional skills in vocal technique, musicianship, music literacy, and ensemble contribution within a culture of respect, self- discipline, support, and unity among its members.

Through the study and performance of choral literature students receive a quality educational experience while encouraging, among its members and the broader community, a passion for, understanding of, and appreciation for the choral arts.

FCCLA

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for students in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education in public and private schools through grade 12. FCCLA offers intra-curricular resources and opportunities for students to pursue careers that support families. The Bixby Middle School Chapter of FCCLA meets once monthly after school, competes in state-level STAR events, and volunteers in the community.

National Junior Honor Society

The BMS National Junior Honor Society is an organization open to 7th and 8th grade students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Our members will perform individual and group service projects in our school and our community.
Students may apply for membership by completing a candidate application which will be reviewed by a faculty committee for compliance with established criteria. All members must maintain their eligibility in all areas of the criteria, attend regular meetings, and perform a required number of volunteer hours.

eSports

Spartan Gaming is a competitive eSports team for 7th and 8th grade students.  Currently, the teams compete in game titles, Fortnite, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Overwatch, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.  The teams compete in both the fall and spring semesters through the Oklahoma eSports League and Oklahoma Scholastic eSports.  Spartan Gaming hosts an in-house tournament in the fall semester as both a fundraiser and a tryout.

Student Council

The BMS Student Council is a volunteer organization for leadership and service to our school and community. Any 7th or 8th grade student may apply for membership, but all members must remain academically eligible. Open enrollment is during the first month of school with election of officers following.

Clay Target/Archery Club

Clay Target and Archery Club is open to 7th-12th grade students. Students compete in trap, skeet, and archery. No experience necessary.
