Thank you very much for taking the time to come to our volunteer meeting and giving your time to the students of Bixby. Bixby Public Schools is very fortunate to have walking its halls a plethora of wonderful certified and support staff. All of them literally make school a great place for kiddos to learn and grow each day. However, there exists a multifarious array of activities and events that simply require the number of adults for supervision and execution that we do not have available. From celebrations to state testing, a wide variety of activities require volunteers. Support received from the Bixby community, PTA, and PTO is vital to the success of our schools and students, and we very much appreciate the hours and hours our volunteers give and contribute to our successes. The Bixby Education Support Team (B.E.S.T.) combines all of our volunteer services into one, cohesive unit. This system provides for a wonderfully effective and efficient volunteer system for our schools and students. There is good reason that Bixby is “Simply the Best.” The volunteer spirit is alive and well in Bixby. Thanks again for your time!

Bixby Public School's Board of Education policy defines a B.E.S.T. volunteer as a person "whose services are donated on a regular basis as a classroom aide or tutor and/or who work directly with students or in the classroom. Those persons matching this description must be registered with Bixby Education Support Team (B.E.S.T.) and attend a volunteer orientation." To better assist our volunteers, staff, and students, Bixby Public Schools requires an orientation familiarizing volunteers with school policy, safety plans, volunteer guidelines, classroom management strategies, confidentiality issues, and daily procedures to follow when volunteering. Principals and administrators are present to provide answers to questions that may arise. |
