Course is offered 1st period at the Middle School to any interested seventh or eighth grade students for a semester. This course is an overview of the culture and customs of Germany. The emphasis is on Communication for beginning level students interested in discovering a new language. The course also includes discussion of other German-speaking countries including Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. Cultural reports, both written and oral, will be required. Native guest speakers, field trips, contests, movies and operas, will enhance the study of the German culture. Course provides a foundation for further study of the German language and for travel. Teaching is aided by the use of technology. |
