Sharla Burgess

Position: Head Coach


Sharla has been a Bixby resident for the past fourteen years.  She and her husband, Kevin, moved to the district shortly after they married in 2001.  Burgess cheered for Tahlequah High School for four years. While in high school her team finished 4th in the OSSAA State Competition in class 6A. She coached all-star teams in college while cheering at Northeastern State University.  In 2007, with Burgess as the head coach, the Bixby Coed cheer squad won the Large Coed Division of the OSSAA State Cheerleading Competition.  The team has also placed 3rd the last two years in the same division and were National Champions at the NCA High School Nationals in the Advanced Performance Game Day Division.

Sharla graduated with a degree in Secondary Science Education from Northeastern State University in 2002. She is certified with the NSCA as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and as a Health Fitness Professional with the American College of Sports Medicine. She is a member of the OCA, OCCA, and is safety certified through AACCA.  Burgess and her husband have 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl.  She enjoys Starbucks and spending time with her family.

Kailey Stewart
Position: Assistant Coach
Kailey is a recent graduate of Oklahoma State University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree at Northeastern State University. She is a Bixby Cheer Alumni, and this is her third year assisting with the cheer program. She will be taking the cheerleaders to football, and basketball games.


Lizzie Shepelwich
Position: Assistant Coach
Lizzie graduated from Jenks in 2004.  She grew up tumbling and cheering in school and all-star squads. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2008 with her degree in education. She has been teaching for the past 7 years and is currently working on her masters in school administration at Northeastern State University.

LeeAnn Sensintaffar LeeAnn

Position: Tunnel Crew Coordinator


LeeAnn has been a Bixby teacher for five years. Sensintaffar cheered for Charles Page High School (Sand Springs) for three years and was a member of Oklahoma State University’s All-Girl NCA National Champion squad during college. LeeAnn has coached several varsity squads as well as elementary squads throughout her life. 

LeeAnn graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University in 1995. She has endorsements in Middle School English and High School English as well as Middle School Social Studies. She is currently teaching Sophomore English at Bixby High School. 

In her spare time, LeeAnn loves to be with her three kids, listen to live music, watch movies, and run.  She is training for her first half-marathon this year.
